Nutrition Bars (for HIV/AIDS patients):

In Kenya, the prospect of getting anti-retroviral drugs is improving - there has been a six-fold increase in the numbers getting treatment in the past two years. But there is a terrible irony.

Severe drought across Kenya has meant that patients on anti-retroviral who don't get enough to eat have been unable to tolerate their medicines, so they have stopped taking them.
Taking these medicines without the proper nutrition has side effects even the neediest with access to the drugs can’t tolerate the stomach pain, dizziness and nausea.

Nutrition bars contain as much nutritional value as needed to take the anti-retroviral drugs, they are easy to pack and ship and easy to distribute to patients.
